Online printing startup, Gogoprint today announces that it has raised $7.7 million in Series A funding round led by Online Printing Group (OPG). Other unknown institutional and private investors also participated in this round.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand in other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea in the next 12 months. Besides, the company is also planning to increase its headcount to 155 from 125 currently.
Founded and launched in Thailand in 2015 by David Berghaeuser and Alexander Suess, Gogoprint aims to be a marketplace for printing suppliers. The company specializes in printing paper-based promotional materials such as business cards, flyers, posters, leaflets, letterheads, presentation folders, postcards, or wedding cards.
Singapore-headquartered (Gogoprint Pte. Ltd.) is financially backed by international investment group OPG and its advisory team includes Mr. Kai Hagenbuch, former Managing Director of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Brazil, the world’s leading producer of offset printing machinery.
Kai Hagenbuch, Director at OPG said, “There are a handful of big-name online printers operating in the region. However, each of them has localised operations as they have been unable to truly expand regionally into Southeast Asia due to operational and market form factors.”
Gogoprint has worked with over 45,000 small and medium businesses (SMBs) and startups across Asia-Pacific customers and printed over 250 million products. It also works with enterprise customers and some of the big names in their clients include Honda, Lazada, Lion Air, Yamaha, Nanyang Technological University Singapore and Booking.com. Furthermore, it claims to witness 200% growth year-on-year in customer acquisition.
“Gogoprint is seeing tremendous demand for our services from small and medium businesses across Asia-Pacific,” said David Berghaeuser, co-Founder and Managing Director of Gogoprint. “We are delighted to have the continued support from all existing investors who share our vision, to build the leading online printing business in Asia-Pacific. Moreover, their support allows us to accelerate our global expansion and product development, amid what’s been an incredible period of growth for our business.”
