Online Real estate property review platform Roofpik today announces the acquisition of Shoppist. With this acquisition, Gurugram-based startup, Roofpik aims to strengthen its core team and bring personalized property recommendations to its users.
“Divij and the Shoppist team bring a fresh boost of expertise to the core team of Roofpik. This acquisition will help us build a robust and experience-oriented product with the potency to give voice to the people in real estate industry,” Arpit Mittal, co-founder of Roofpik, said.
As a part of the acquisition, Divij Goyal, an IIT Roorkee alumnus and founder of Shoppist, will join the Roofpik board as Chief marketing officer.
Commenting on the acquisition, Divij Goyal, founder of Shoppist said, “There’s a clear gap in the real estate space which can be addressed by offering user-generated reviews/ratings of properties and agents. I hope this acquisition will definitely help to build Roofpik a bigger and a valuable brand for users”.
Roofpik was founded by Arpit Mittal and Kanika Katoch as a real estate property review focused platform in 2016. It places data analytics at the core of its property review and search platform where people can read, write & talk about their experiences.
On the other hands, the Bengaluru-based startup Shoppist uses NLP as a technology to find the relevant product from over 100 shopping channels.
With this technology, Roofpik will be able to validate reviews and generate meaningful analytics from over 5,000 user reviews that are currently live on the platform.
