Earlier, we reported that Samsung would be following Apple and HTC by introducing a fingerprint scanner on the upcoming Galaxy S5. But, that is not only the feature includes to the flagship device, Yes Samsung is going to introduce some features including iris scanner, as Bloomberg reports. The report also adds that the device will be unveiled along with an improved Galaxy Gear smartwatch after the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February.
In an interview with Bloomberg at CES, Samsung’s Lee Young Hee said, “Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology and we are studying the possibility.” This is not the first time we are hearing about the possibility of an eye scanner on the Galaxy S5, and it was first reported back in December last year. Additionally, Lee also revealed that the flagship device will feature a new display and better build materials, which is consistent with earlier leaks.
Since, we already know the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a 5.25-inch display with a resolution of (2,560×1,440) pixels, a new 64-bit Exynos processor or a quad-core Snapdragon processor depending on the device model. It will also feature a 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with new technology that improves low-light photo quality and a 4,000mAh. The high-end smartphone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung own interface called TouchWiz.
