Samsung has finally unveiled the portable addition to the Galaxy Tab 3 series. The device specifications are the same as were leaked by Sammobile: the tablet will come in both Wi-Fi and 3G variants. The device to feature a 7-inch WSVGA (1024 X 600) screen and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The tablet runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, however, there is no word on the update to newer versions of Android is coming or not.
The device camera seems to be let down as it will feature a 2-megapixel on the back but it offers features like smile detection, Share and Shoot, Panorama, and more. It will have an 8GB of internal storage with an option to further extend via a microSD card.
The device connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ (2.4GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, BT4.0, USB2.0, GPS + GLONASS, and HSPA+ 21mbps. It has a 3,600 mAh battery that is rated for up to 8 hours of video playback.
The company didn’t provide the pricing and availability details of the device though we can expect Galaxy Tab 3 Lite to launch in markets late in January / early February with a price tag of approx 100 Euro ($129) for the Wi-Fi-only model.
