Former Urban Ladder executive, Sanjay Gupta has joined Uber India as the Head of Marketing. Mr Gupta who comes with over 15 years of experience in brand consulting, he will focus on further strengthening Uber as a brand in India.
According to the VC Circle (pointed out), Gupta’s LinkedIn profile suggests that he left Urban Ladder in April this year and joined as Uber’s marketing head in May this year.
On his appointment as the Head of Marketing, Uber India, Sanjay Gupta said, “I’m excited to join Uber at such an opportune time. Uber is redefining urban mobility and has created a unique experience for riders and driver partners across the country. I’m looking forward to working with the super-talented team at Uber and take it to its next phase of growth in India.”
Gupta is an acclaimed brand consultant and has been recognised as India’s ‘Top 40 Under 40 Hottest Business Leaders’ in 2015. There are several marketing campaigns created by him have also won recognition at EMVIE and Effie, leading advertising and media awards in the industry. His expertise lies in delivering growth, evangelising strategic brand shifts and building power brands. Sanjay is passionate about leading the growth, innovation and people agenda.
Prior to joining Uber India, Gupta was associated with Urban Ladder Chief Marketing Officer. He has also spent over a decade at Marico, where he led the charter for Saffola’s journey from a single category niche brand to a food brand strengthening its association with preventive heart care.
