Sony may launch a Windows device in 2014

Japanese giants Sony electronics that has sold smartphone powered by google’s android nearly for four years is considered launching a windows phone.

According to the source the information, Sony is planning to add another OS to its stable of mobile devices. The company is allegedly considering the launch of a Windows device in mid of 2014.

Even Microsoft has acquired Nokia devices and services but still struggling to make gains against Google and Android and looking for the hardware partners to expand the windows device ecosystems.

Earlier Sony had a Windows Phone 7 prototype in the past but the company never officially launched a mobile phone with Windows OS from the days of Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, X2, and Aspen.

However, A Windows Phone from Sony will represent a massive shift as all the Sony mobile devices are now running Google’s Android OS.
