Vivo X200T launches in India with Dimensity 9400+ and a bigger battery

Vivo has added a new phone to its X200 lineup in India, even as the company’s newer X300 series is already on sale. Called the Vivo X200T, the phone looks like a mid-cycle refresh aimed at keeping the older flagship relevant, rather than a completely new model.

The Vivo X200T is priced at Rs 59,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB + 512GB version costs Rs 69,999. It will be available in Stellar Black and Seaside Lilac. Launch offers include a flat Rs 5,000 discount for Axis, HDFC, and SBI card users.

On the front is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It’s a good, familiar panel, though Vivo has skipped LTPO technology here. That makes it less power-efficient than some newer flagships, but at this price point, it’s not an unusual compromise.

The bigger change is on the inside. The X200T runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+, an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400. It isn’t the newest chip MediaTek has to offer, but it’s still comfortably in flagship territory and should handle gaming and heavy multitasking without much effort. The phone ships with 12GB of RAM as standard.

Software is another area where the X200T feels current. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box, something many flagships launched last year are still waiting for. Vivo says the phone will receive five major Android updates and seven years of security patches, which should help it stay relevant for longer, even if it falls short of the longest update promises in this segment.

Battery life is likely one of the phone’s stronger points. The X200T packs a 6,200mAh battery, which is larger than the regular X200. Charging support includes 90W wired and 40W wireless, covering both fast top-ups and convenience.

Cameras don’t appear to be the main focus this time. The phone uses a 50MP triple rear camera setup developed with Zeiss, consisting of a Sony LYT702 primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. The 32MP front camera remains unchanged. How this setup stacks up against rivals will likely come down to tuning rather than raw specs.

The Vivo X200T also comes with IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, an aluminium frame with glass on both sides, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support, 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.4.

At its current pricing, the X200T sits in an interesting spot. It offers a newer chipset and a bigger battery than some rivals, without pushing too far into ultra-premium territory. For buyers who want a solid all-rounder with updated software and strong battery life, it makes sense as a quieter alternative to chasing the latest flagship.
