Samsung is launching Galaxy Note8 in India on September 12

Samsung is all set to launch its flagship device Galaxy Note 8 in India on September 12. The company has sent out media invites for the events which is scheduled to live stream at 12:30 pm.

The South Korean smartphone manufacturer first announced the Galaxy Note8 in its home market last month and reports then suggested that it would bring the device to the India around the second week of September. Incidentally, the Galaxy Note8 will be launching in India on the same day when Apple will unveil the iPhone 8 in the US.

The Galaxy Note 8 is the most anticipated device to hit the Indian market. Talking about its specification, the smartphone features a 6.3-inch AMOLED quad HD display with 2960 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/ Exynos octa-core SoC. Considering the high performance and storage capacity, Samsung has placed 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and there is support for microSD card on the device.

The device has a dual camera setup sporting two 12MP sensors — one wide angle lens and one telephoto lens and an 8MP selfie shooter. It runs on Android 7.1.1 with company’s UI on the top.

Galaxy Note8 has an Iris scanner, fingerprint sensor as well as heart rate monitor, similar to the predecessor and is also water resistant up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes with IP68 ratings.

The device also has Bixby assistant that was first introduced with the S8 series and also has a dedicated Bixby hardware button. It also has an improved S Pen stylus with finer tip, improved pressure sensitivity, and several new S Pen features. Galaxy Note 8 is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and is coupled with fast and wireless charging technologies.

Ahead of the launch, Samsung has already started registration process to book Galaxy Note 8. Consumers can register their interest on the Samsung India website.

As for the pricing details, Galaxy Note8 was launched at $930 in its home market. Then the chances are that the device may cost around anywhere between INR 60,000 to INR 65,000.
